Norton is the quintessential American grape. This estate grape makes a full bodied rich wine with hints of dark berry, cloves and coffee. Norton was first cultivated in Virginia in the 1820s and won an award at the Vienna World’s Fair of 1873 as the “best red wine of all nations.” This wine pairs well with smoked meats, wild game, and robust cheese.
Super Texan is a call to the adventurous. With a bold blend of estate grown Lomanto and Delicatessen Texan grapes, this hardy rodeo ride of a dry red wine has a strong finish with hints of blueberry reminiscent of the Texas prairies. The Super Texan pairs perfectly with smoked meat.
Professore Zehnder is a fruit-forward wine with notes of dark cherry and blackberry. The Zehnder grape variety was breed by an Alabamian and La Famiglia is the only winery in world to produce the Zehnder variety. In honor of the great breeder Robert Zehnder, the wine is called Professore Zehnder. We strive to produce this estate wine with the same rigor and enthusiasm as the creator.
Sasso Rosso is a dry red blend wine that represents the rich Alabama clay and red stony soil terroir. Sasso Rosso exudes a distinct character that reflects its unique environment - the deep, earthy flavors of the wine are anchored by the robust clay soil, offering a complex yet smooth experience. Rich notes of dark cherry and ripe plum emerge, accompanied by subtle hints of oak and spice, which harmonize perfectly with the underlying minerality of the sasso rosso (red stone).
